A Disney World vacation is expensive! You need to know how much to budget for your trip and we can help with that. We’ve outlined below the minimums you can expect to pay while in Florida when planning your Disney World Vacation. We’re looking at off-property options & costs. On-property options will be reviewed in a future article.
You’ll notice this article doesn’t include costs for getting to Disney World and back home. Those expenses depend on too many variables for us to attempt an estimation….but we do offer some advice on the subject 🙂
No time to read about it now? Pin this for later 🙂
Disney World Vacation Cost
GETTING THERE & BACK HOME
This can vary greatly depending upon where you live and how many people are in your group. We recommend shopping flight deals and carefully compare them with the cost of driving. You may find flying is more cost effective than driving if you live very far from Florida.
PARK TICKETS
3 Day Base Ticket
Adult $305
Child 3-9 $287
4 Day Base Ticket
Adult $380
Child 3-9 $360
5 Day Base Ticket
Adult $395
Child 3-9 $375
Children under age 3 are admitted free
Ticket prices listed are based on list prices found at Disney’s Official Online Ticket Center. Discounted tickets can save $$. We recommend authorized ticket broker Undercover Tourist for discount tickets to save at least $10 per ticket.
When comparing ticket prices, keep in mind that Disney’s list price is pre-tax.
HOTEL
$85 per night and up
This varies greatly but there are really good options for less than $100 per night for a family of 4 when staying off property (not at a Disney resort).
Of course, there are super inexpensive options for less than $50 per night but please consider these with caution and read the hotel reviews before making your decision.
FOOD
At the parks, you can expect to pay a minimum of
$40/day per adult
$24/day per child
Quick service meals tend to range in price from $10-$15 each. Ice water is free. A soda will add a little over $3 to each meal.
Quick service kids meals are available from $6.29-$7.19 and include a drink.
The above estimate includes 3 meals eaten at the park quick service (walk-up ordering) restaurants.
Disney does allow guests to bring food inside the parks. Read about it here
TRANSPORTATION
Staying off property requires transportation to/from the airport and to/from the parks each day.
Example: Roundtrip airport/hotel transportation for a family of 4 using Mears Transportation – $117
Uber rides can vary but conservatively you can expect to pay over $20 per ride. Please check Uber for exact pricing.
Car rentals are often a great option! They can be cost effective and much simpler than using other forms of transportation.
Parking at Disney World is $22/day for the whole day
